Garth got on the scale today!

Garth weighed in today at 93.7lbs. He is about a week or so past his 9month birthday. I must say that Garth is not as leggy or long as my other boerboel. Garth is a little tank. Garth played with Nero last Sunday and they had a great time. They even killed one of my chickens together. I did not want this to happen, I did not get mad either. I think it was a bonding experience of sorts. I am happy with Garth. More pics tomorrow when the sun is out. Life is Boerboel Good!

The Mighty Sampson

OK everyone, time to get jealous. Just look at that pup. His name is Sampson, he has come all the way from South Africa. This is yet another example of a Spitsvuur pup. This is one lucky dog, the new owners are very good parents. This dog will be well taken care of. Sampson's new family tells me he is an impressive puppy. Temperament is right on track. Tough little guy survived the journey and is settling in to his new, loving home. I am so happy that a boerboel pup is in the right home. I must say I have adopted Sampson as a nephew. I will always be his Uncle Paul. My own funny way of connecting with a dog that is not even mine. It must be a boerboel thing.

Garth is learning

The reason I posted this stuff about Rex. This is something Garth needs to learn, that I can bring other animals onto the farm. This is a good thing for Garth to learn at a young age. The younger the easier.

This is Rex

Well, this is Rex. He was dropped off last Friday and left on the street to survive in this condition. I was contacted Sunday Morning, I got him and took him to the emergency vet. Rex needed 6 baths to get the urine and feces smell out of his fur. Rex has just about everything wrong with him. Mange, worms, pressure sores, skin infections. The worst thing is that he was starved as a growing puppy. Rex is only 5 months old. Some human starved a Puppy. I will have to end this here. I do not have anything else nice to say at this point. Rex needs a good home! I will heal him, fatten him up, and do some leash work. He should be ready for a new home in 60 days. Garth is just dying to play with the little guy. I can't let him, Rex is only 18lbs and fragile. Rex has very weak bones right now. Here I go again. Oh well, this is what I do. I didn't go to church on Sunday. Well, maybe I was in a real church??
